Levada | Marcello’s family venetian villa

Surrounded by six hectares of parkland, it's one of the best preserved examples of Venetian villa of the eighteenth century. it's famous for having hosted italian royal family famous exponents such as Victor Emmanuel II in the 1866 and Vittorio Emanuele III in the 1918. it still belongs to the heirs of the noble Venetian family of Marcello. The original building dates 1500 and is completaly incorporated into the reconstruction, made by an unknown author in the early 1700's when it was owned by the Maruzzi Marquis. Inside, the main floor of the great hall containing frescoes by G.B. Crosato, with scenes from Alexander's life. The other rooms are finely decorated in stucco and some part was made by the landscape painter G. Zais. An Italian garden with statues, it decore the front and the back of the villa. wide tree-lined avenues surround a large "fish pond".
